Gilgit Baltistan Humane: Right Activist sent Prison in Gilgit
GILGIT: Ehsan Ali Advocate, the president of Supreme Appellate
Court Bar has been detained by the Police on 11 February 2018, from his home.
Ehsan Ali Advocate is a prominent progressive political and
right activist of Gilgit Baltistan. He is the chairman of Awami Action Tehreek
(AAT) and the former chairman of Awami Action Committee (AAC) Gilgit Baltistan.
He has detained under Anti-Terrorism Act (ATC) on a complaint of
a local person over sharing a post related to Iranian revolution on FB.
He was produced before ATA Court on Monday, and sent to prison.
An anti-Ehsan Advocate campaign has been started on social media
and wall chalking has been done against him in the city to trapped Ehsan
Advocate is the false case.
The leaders of the Awami Workers Party, Awami Action Committee,
Gilgit Baltistan United Movement, Karakuram National Movement, Awami Action
Tehreek, Youth Alliances, BSF, BNSO, BYA, and PYF have expressed concern over
the arrest of Ehsan Ali Advocate under trumped up charges.
They demanded the immediate release of him and other nationalist
and progressive political activists of Gilgit Baltistan.
